| The Power of Referrals |

In the day and age of so much competition in the market place, a referral goes a really long way. I am sincerely flattered and thankful when they come my way. I know when I make a referral for a service to a client of mine, that person or company better make me look good. It sounds funny to say that, but someone I refer is a reflection of me. If they do a bad job for a client of mine, then I may go down a notch in their eyes and may not refer me later on.
I had a conversation with some Canadian clients of mine a couple of months ago while driving them through the streets of Phoenix. We were talking about all of the things I could help them with after we got their house closed escrow. I could help them get their place rented, find a landscaper, painter, lock smith… the list goes on… They were wondering why I would do so much extra for them and not get any additional compensation for my services. I thought for a minute and replied this way: You are in Canada, I am here. I know who to call to get things done. You don’t. I know who offers quality services so you won’t need to worry about getting over-charged or have the work being done less than stellar. I want to make sure that you know you’re in good hands and you are taken care of. My clients are very appreciative of the fact that I do what I say. And my goal would be that you refer me to your friends and family when they want to buy a home here in the Phoenix area. That’s the best thank you I could ask for. And in turn, I will make you a shining star in your friends’ eyes because I will do an excellent job for them… just like I did for you. |
